Regesta Imperii
branch office Brno

“We have been making the charters of Sigismund of Luxembourg accessible in Brno since 2011. The feeling from discovering new sources is unique, because I'm still finding a number of Sigismund's charters, for example in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century transcripts that apparently no one has examined since they were created. Some of these documents have the potential to significantly reshape the interpretation of Sigismund’s reign.”

Our research objectives
The Regesta Imperii branch office in Brno was established in 2011 and is the newest department of the Regesta Imperii, as well as its first branch outside Austria and Germany. It focuses on archival research and the scholarly editing and publication of the charters and documents of Sigismund of Luxembourg, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Hungary, Bohemia, and Croatia (*1368 – †1437).
